Whether you want some quality track time for testing, receive mentoring and tutoring to improve your lines, gain confidence driving at track days, or learn more about how your car handles by venturing onto a track for the very first time, the Women’s Track Day at Queensland Raceway this coming Monday September 16 is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a track day, with like-minded female motor sport enthusiasts.
Endorsed by WAMS, AWMN’s Girl’s Torque, and the HRCC’s Women’s Torque, the event contains three programs; the Introductory Program for those women with road cars who want to know what it’s like to drive on a race track, the Mentoring Program which suits those with track-prepared road cars and race cars looking to improve their lap times or drifting skills, and the General Practice sessions to suit those who need some quality track time to practice and do testing laps (see more information below).
Even if you don’t have your own car to bring to the track day, you can arrange to lease a race prepared Mazda MX5 from Queensland Raceway. Lease fees start from $100pp, which is a very affordable way to get on track.
THE INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM
Do you love your road car and ever wonder what it would be like to drive on a race track? The Introductory Program is designed specifically for you to gain skill, confidence and speed behind the wheel and learn the art of driving on a race track. Build confidence right from the start by receiving in-depth knowledge sharing from our experienced female driver trainers. We’ll explain the inside know-how on road car set up for track days, and once you’ve been coached through our car handling workshop, had some fun learning about brake testing, and enjoyed sharing your passion for motoring over a buffet lunch, we’ll show you the ropes on the track before giving you the go ahead to try it out and test your skills on the track for yourself.
THE MENTORING PROGRAM
Are you keen to do more laps, faster laps and with more refined skills to get the most from yourself and your track or race car? The Mentoring Program is ready to welcome women who’ve done track laps already and who are keen to do more. Whether you’ve done karting, motorkhana, hill climb, regularity, sprints, club racing or even drifting, we’re keen to provide you with a mentor who can empower you with the right knowledge that enables you to find out what you can really achieve on a race track.
The experienced female instructors on hand have thousands of laps spanning many of the world’s most iconic race tracks, from Bathurst to the daunting 22miles of the Nurburgring in Germany, to racing in over 50 race cars from Formula Ford to Sport Sedans, Touring Cars, and GT Sports Cars to Formula Three. Be one of the lucky few to gain their insights.
Got a track car or race car and keen to do some practice or testing laps? Don’t need instruction but dearly want some quality track time? Join the General Practice Sessions as part of our Women’s Track Day at Queensland Raceway. Whether you’re preparing for your next race meeting or it’s simply time to get your beloved track prepared horsepower angel out on the black stuff, register today. Experienced female instructors will also be at the track, both ready to have a quick chat and share in familiar racing tales and if you feel you may want a tip or two, opt for Tuition and gain an advantage from their knowledge learned from many years of racing.
